This is a set of 9 cards of one of my original hand made and printed linocut prints of old Irish coins. Printed onto recycled card stock.
Each one measures 10cm x 10cm and comes with a white envelope.
The cards are blank on the inside (and just has my contact details on the back side).
Super high quality finish with a satin type finish to the print. Cards come packed to keep safe and clean.

Linocut is a printmaking technique, in which a sheet of linoleum is used as the relief surface. First, I develop a design by sketching usually from a photograph and then carve it onto the linoleum surface with a V-shaped chisel, the raised uncarved areas represent a mirror image of the desired printed image. Once carved, the linoleum sheet is inked with a roller, and then pressed onto handmade paper to create the final image.
In printmaking linoleum was considered a cheap alternative to wood but due to its ease of carving and lack of grain its popularity grew in the early 1900s.

Each print is hand printed onto high quality handmade paper from an original hand carved lino block in Kinsale, Co Cork. There are subtle differences between each print in colour and texture, and therefore each finished piece is unique.
